Thursday, July 16 – A BIG thanks to Don Mitchell and Merrilee York of Carefree Greenery Ltd. for demonstrating how to construct a hanging garden using a plastic bag, and fertilizer, along with tomato and marigold plants. The ‘Growing Your Own Food Bank’ Community Gardening Club workshop demonstrated to its 20 participants that an accessible garden can be conveniently grown in your own kitchen, living room, or balcony, etc.  Participants continue to learn healthy and affordable ways to produce their own food each week.  Call 604-872-7676 or email communitygarden@salvationarmyvcfs.com for registration details!
