NOWBC – Empowering Newcomer Families with Information and Resources

August 31, 2015 – The Vancouver School Board (VSB) Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) Program  invited The Salvation Army Vancouver Community & Family Services to participate in its Newcomer Orientation and Welcome to British Columbia (NOWBC) event which featured informative and educational activities for immigrant and refugee parents, students, and caregivers who have immigrated to Canada.  The NOWBC activities included concurrent information sessions, workshops and demonstrations on various topics relevant to “New Canadians.” There were also display areas where immigrant-serving agencies, non-profit organizations and government agencies, etc. showcased their programs and activities!
